It’s WHITE. It’s JUICY. It’s SUPERB…
Yes, you read that correctly, this is a white wine made from Sangiovese (a red grape) and Pecorino (a white grape). As soon as the red grapes are picked they are taken back to the winery and pressed off of their skins leaving a clear juice that is fermented then blended with the Pecorino to make this juicy, mouthwatering wine. Simple (for Nico Speranza at least – the winemaker, if you hadn’t twigged!). He manages to deliver the crunchy red fruit flavours of Sangiovese whilst maintaining acidity and freshness with the Pecorino. Inspired.
